About Me:

As I was speaking to some heroin drug addicts, there was something beautiful in them, maybe it was looking through their suffering eyes and into their soul where their divinity and beauty rests. It was their willingness to help me out with some research data and it was their ability to smile where I felt their inner being of kindness and love. But just knowing that here are individuals, probably dealing with one of the most difficult things in life, so overpowered and completely lost by this heroin addiction, are traveling a life's journey, just like you and me, and discovering truths. As I looked at their faces, there were scars and bruises penetrating their mind body and spirit. From such struggles, challenges, violence and abuse they have had to face in life and perhaps heroin is the only temporary relief they know, as they try to forget the pain. It is not only the pains of life situations, but its the pain of the soul yearning for home. As each of us come on earth, we loose the feeling of our soul being merged and in union with the divine source. Our souls, trapped into these bodies in the material world, and with the rise of the ego we start to feel separateness and individuality. Separateness isn't our true nature, so life seems like a stranger sometimes when we live in our minds and not in our souls.

So here we are, experiencing the highs and lows in life. During the lows, the times when we are coming face to face with our inner challenges and difficulties, it seems like a plug is being pulled out of our inside as we realize a deep sorrow, a deep longing and a deep desire to merge with another soul - with a divine soul. However, much of humanity is not consciously aware of WHAT it is that they are longing and desiring for, what this emptiness and depression is that they are feeling. It is only self-inquiry that will lead you to the root of your suffering. And so, they try to fill their emptiness with drugs, sex, money, and the trivial and mundane things in life. Their energy is constantly directed externally, their heads running around like some crazy ants, constantly socializing and entertaining themselves and never stopping to direct their focus of energy into themselves.

So what is the difference between drug addicts, people suffering with psychotic disorders, the homeless, prostitutes and You and Me? These are the individuals that most “normal” people (whatever that means) find completely different and separate from. It's like they are viewed as another “breed”. But there is no difference between the heroin addict and you and me, as each of us came from divinity, are working through life to realize our divinity and will be going back towards divinity. Each and Ever Single Human Being On Earth is Traveling Towards the Exact Same  Things- Death of the Body, Rising of the Soul. We are all working towards death, but realize it or not, what we call “death” is but a very little “death”, only death of the body and mind. There is a greater reality and truth to us then just this body and mind- it is the soul and the other several energetic layers of our existence that remain alive. Furthermore, in this lifetime our “working through life to realize our divinity” can be done in many ways such as experiencing addictions and mental health, artistic expressions, exploration of the yogic path or disentangling the self from a materialistic society.

So meet each individual you see on earth with love, compassion and kindness. Realizing that they aren't so different from you, they just want to feel good and make the suffering stop, and yes, many do this in a way that is perhaps different from yours, i.e. drug addictions, violent behavior and so forth. But the more you can realize the oneness, the more you can embrace humanity.  Let your embracing of humanity start with a smile, a warm conversation, a listening ear, loving and compassionate eyes, and being your true being- your peaceful being.

And so, at the end I didn't just realize, but I experienced that these drug addicts are not “human beings have a spiritual experience but  spiritual beings having a human experience”. They are divinity in disguise….
